				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – Bev Slough announced the endorsement today of St. Johns County Sheriff, David Shoar.</p>
<p>“I have always admired Bev Slough’s public service. I truly believe Bev represents all that is good in our citizens who honestly want to make a difference,” stated Sheriff David Shoar. “Bev Slough will be a conservative leader we can trust to actually change Washington.”</p>
<p>David Shoar is the Past President of the Florida Sheriffs Association and has served as St. Johns County Sheriff since 2004, winning re-election unopposed in both 2008 and 2012.  Prior to serving as Sheriff, Shoar was the Chief of Police for the City of St. Augustine and is a veteran of the Florida National Guard.</p>
<p>Bev Slough currently serves as Chairman of the St. Johns County School Board. St. Johns County has been ranked the top school district in Florida for the past three years. Bev is also President of the First Coast United Way, Past President of both the Florida School Boards Association and EPIC Community Services, and an active member of the boards of St. Johns Education Foundation, PACT Prevention Coalition, Character Counts!, and JCP Cares.</p>
<p>Bev lives in St. Johns, Florida with her husband Wes, pastor of Switzerland Community Church. They have two daughters, Julie Simmons and Elizabeth Slough, and two grandchildren. <p>“Bev Slough is a leader who works hard and doesn’t care who gets the credit,” said Nikki Cummings, Putnam County School Board Member for District 1. “We need more selfless leaders like Bev in public service. She’s served her community for decades and asked for nothing in return. Putnam County and all of Congressional District 6 will be a better place with a leader like Bev Slough representing us.”</p>
<p>Lisa Parsons, Putnam County School Board Member, District 2 stated, “I have witnessed Bev Slough’s leadership at the Florida School Boards Association. She has a servant’s heart and a unique ability to bring people together. Bev Slough is a conservative we can trust to break the gridlock in Washington.”</p>

<p>Jeff Kottkamp served as Florida’s 17th Lieutenant Governor from 2007-2011. As Lieutenant Governor Jeff served as Chairman of Florida&#8217;s Children&#8217;s Cabinet, Chairman of Space Florida, Chairman of the Florida Sports Foundation and oversees the the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as well as the Office of Drug Control. From 2000 to 2006 Jeff served in the Florida House of Representatives. During his three terms in the legislature Jeff fought for lower taxes, for a quality education for all children, and for tougher penalties for violent criminals.</p>

<p>“Bev Slough’s courage to lead and conviction to do what’s right makes her the perfect candidate for Congress. St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam, and Volusia counties will be well served by Bev Slough in Washington,” said Mark Miner, Chairman of the St. Johns County Commission.</p>
<p>Commission Vice Chairman Jay Morris explained, “We need to get America working again. I&#8217;m pleased to endorse Bev because I have known and worked with her over the past two years. Bev&#8217;s common sense approach and proven leadership can get America back on track.”</p>
<p>“Bev Slough puts people before politics, she always has and she always will. Bev’s unique background, expertise in education, values and deep roots in our community make her an ideal candidate for Congress,” stated Commissioner Cyndi Stevenson.</p>
